If she didn’t get out, she was going to suffocate.
But she was locked in a prison of her own making. She was aware as time went marching in the cold way it always had, that she was going to lose every single piece of her entire body and soul to it. Her mind came up blank whenever she tried to comb its insides to find the key to her freedom.
But she didn’t fight it much. Letting herself be consumed by it, she blighted out every detail of the life she hated living.
She noticed her hunger and thirst was never satiated and the bones began to show through her skin. She imagined her hair falling off and transforming into golden dust, drifting through the space in her mind with a purpose.
It was draining her of everything.
I’ll bet you’re wondering what she needed to be free of. It was her mind.
It made her immortal, but in a cursed sort of way. It made her unstoppable, but in a deadly kind of way.
It's him. Her thoughts run in circles and she cannot get him out of her mind. They wouldn’t work and it makes no sense.
But she can't unlock the cage inside her mind.
She wishes she could scream but they’d ask her “why are you screaming” and it wouldn’t make any fucking sense to them.
She’s sure.
So I’m in a prison of my own making.
It’s suffocating.
But I’ll survive.
